Benecorten is a derivatives of triamcinolone acetonide which has been found to have potent antiinflammatory action and excellent tolerance through clinical evaluation of therapeutic effect in several kinds of dermatosis.
The study was undertaken to evaluate the therapeutic effect of 0.075% Benecorten cream in 14 patients with psoriasis vulgaris, 5 patients with contact dermatitis, 5 patients with neuro¡þdermatitis and 7 patients with atopic dermatitis, who visited the Department of Dermatology in Ewha Womans University Hospital from 5th Oct. 1981 to 10th Tan. 1982. The result were as follow;
1) Effective therapeutic response was noted in 85.7% of psoriasis, 100% of contact dermatitis, 80% of neurodermatitis and 85.7% of atopic dermatitis.
2) By the psoriasis plaque test, 0.21% desoxymethasone was effective in 78.6%, 0.05% fluocinonide in 64.3%, 0. 1% Halcinonide in 71.4% and 0. 075% Benecorten in 85.7%.
